Another year, another code base

{mosimage}For 2005 I’m trying out a new code base for the Silicon Chisel site. This CMS is called “Mambo” – it’s undergone a massive re-write since the last time I looked at it. I switched because I liked Mambo’s presentation and content handling a little better than LDU for this kind of application. So much of LDU’s power was not being used, but managing the actual news items was more work than it should have been because of what that system was meant to do best. So Mambo seems like a good thing to try for a year.

Also, the themes for Mambo had a cleaner, more professional look than what was available for LDU. LDU themes are more game-related … while they look nice, they aren’t very “corporate.”
