The follow-on to vPaddock, this second-generation portal uses a combination of stand-alone technologies loosely coupled into look-and-feel. The technology in use includes the Land Down Under website engine, Gallery, IkonBoard, and the 4images media manager. Links between the major components from each other provide a way to conveniently navigate around; and using the best-of-breed open-source components for each area provides better overal functionality.
One interesting twist here is the use of the 4images picture gallery for a download manager. 4images supports a wide variety of media types – including sounds, animation, and compressed archives. It also supports the ability to attach thumbnails previews to non-image content. Since most game add-ons are audio-visual in some way, these features seemed an ideal fit for the needs of the community.
vPaddock wins Racesim Central Award
Racesim Central recently awarded vPaddock their "Site of the Month" for January 2002:
"The site we picked for January might have been around for a long time but we only just discovered them recently… A truly great webdesign, loads of attention to details, a dedicated community and some exclusive add-on material makes vPaddock our choice."
RaScore
RaScore (pronounced like “Race-Score”) is a mySQL-based system for maintaining league standings for online sim-racing groups. This system has been integrated into the PostNuke portal as a module. RaScore allows league admins to describe their scoring rules as a table in mySQL, and then apply these against their race results. Team scoring, customized bonus categories, and qualification bonuses are all included.

I was asked by a friend to create a web site for her. She happened to be an Oakland Raiderette chearleader. This site uses a brushed metal background and keeps with the “silver and black” color scheme of the Raiders. The site incorporates Flash-based photo galleries and music.

vPaddock.com
vPaddock is a web portal for online racing simulation leagues and add-on designers. These games are very detailed simulations of racing cars and tracks, which people use to race against each other over the Internet, from all over the world. This site uses a customized version of the PostNuke content management system. It includes image galleries, forums, and an event calendar. The graphics are all original as well, though the theme is somewhat borrowed.

This was to be a site for the San Francisco area fashion and entertainment community. Once again, a clean aesthetic was used for the overall motif. The site itself incorporated Flash animations and a newsfeed for local entertainment. A complete Flash-based system for publishing model’s portfolios on the web was also created.
Note: Sadly, the site didn’t last more than a few months before the principals lost interest.
